June 10, 2024The six-week festival, taking place from June 20th to August 1st, features four internationally renowned resident orchestras: the Sinfónica de Minería (formerly Orquesta Sinfónica de Minería), the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic, along with distinguished chamber ensembles and guest artists. The season showcases an incredible variety of programming, ranging from opera, classical masterpieces, and new music, to pop favorites and Latin American classical music.
The season begins with the Sinfónica de Minería, making a historic debut as the international chamber orchestra of 2024 and the first Latin American guest orchestra presented at the festival. Directed by the renowned Mexican artistic director Carlos Miguel Prieto, the three-day residency features world-renowned artists, including trumpeter Pacho Flores, guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas, flamenco singer Esperanza Fernández, flamenco dancer Isaac Tovar, and cuatrista Leo Rondón.
The acclaimed Sinfónica de Minería makes its highly anticipated debut with Bravo! Vail International Chamber Orchestra 2024 and the first Latin American orchestra featured at the festival.
Under the direction of renowned Mexican artistic director Carlos Miguel Prieto, MPO's three programs include a wide range of repertoire and debut performances by guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas, flamenco singer Esperanza Fernández, flamenco dancer Isaac Tovar, trumpeter Pacho Flores, and cuatrista Leo Rondón. Additionally, there will be a special performance by Bravo!'s own Anne-Marie McDermott from Vail.
