Position Summary:
The Education & Engagement Programs Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the execution of the mission of the department: creating meaningful connections and inspiring musical curiosity.
There are currently more than 20 Education & Engagement programs or series, categorized into four
focus areas:
• Access/Exposure - Remove barriers and create entry points to music
• Instruction - Cultivate and inspire the musician inside every child
• Enrichment - Deepen a person’s understanding of music
• Professional Development – Enhance the health and vibrancy of the performing arts field
The Education & Engagement Programs Coordinator is responsible for managing one Education & Engagement intern.
Essential Functions:
• Coordinate the Bravo Vail Music Makers program;
• Teach group piano or violin classes two days per week as a Bravo! Vail Lead Teacher;
• Assist with execution of all access & exposure, enrichment, and professional development summer programs for youth and adults including but not limited to, Pre-Concert Talks, Inside the Music, Little Listeners @ the Library, Community Concert series, community
collaborations, Intern Enhancement Activities, and Family Concerts;
• Design and execute Summer Piano and Violin Intensive in collaboration with the Lead Piano and Lead Violin Teachers;
• Hire and manage one seasonal intern;
• Other duties as assigned.
Key Relationships and Collaborations:
• Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with internal departments and colleagues and coordinate on projects as needed;
• Work closely with numerous external stakeholders and partners including event venues, community partners, local music teachers, students, parents, libraries, vendors, and more.

Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience; preferably in Music and/or Education;
• A minimum of one year of work experience in music education; ideally piano or string instruction for elementary students;
• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, public speaking and presentation skills; English and Spanish strongly preferred;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
• Ability to learn and develop proficiency in additional technology systems;
• Weekend, evening, and holiday work is required at various times throughout the year.
Compensation:
Salary $40,000 - $45,000

Program Overview: Bravo! Vail’s After-School Piano and Violin Programs encourage students to explore the world of classical music through group classes that include lessons covering music theory, technique, performance, and collaboration. In weekly 45-minute classes held throughout the academic year, students build strong musical foundations. Each winter and spring, students perform in community recitals, and over the summer, advanced students are invited to participate in a four-day summer intensive.
Position Summary: The Lead Piano Teacher is an integral part of the teaching team and must provide a safe and inspiring environment conducive to learning while at the same time promoting a life-long appreciation of music. Lead Teachers are responsible for guiding each of their group classes and individual students with a positive, solution-based approach to music education.
Essential Functions:
Teaching
o Follow Bravo! Vail’s After-School Piano Program curriculum to progress classes through each level of material using the Faber method series
o Accurately track weekly attendance and student progress in Sawyer
o Administer Pre/Post Program Testing
o Assist with production of bi-annual winter and spring recitals
Communication
o Send weekly parent emails to all families that include material covered in class, homework and upcoming events via Sawyer
o Participate in teacher trainings and bi-annual staff meetings
o Promptly and accurately enter hours worked weekly through Bravo! Vail’s employee system
Requirements:
• A passion for Bravo! Vail mission
• A minimum of two years of work experience in piano instruction, private or group lessons
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive team member
• Excellent judgement and creative problem-solving including conflict resolution skills
• Self-reliant, but also excels as team player
• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Basic proficiency in computer skills
• Ability to pass a background check
