Young Musicians Summit
June 22-28, 2026
A collaboration with Bravo! Vail Music Makers Haciendo Música and other classical music organizations. For 2026, participants will receive an opportunity to play side-by-side with and be coached by members of Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and Music Director Joshua Bell.

Eligibility Requirements
- the applicant is between the ages of 13-18
- the applicant plays violin, viola, cello, or bass
- the applicant resides in the United States
- the applicant studies with a private teacher or has access to a school provided mentor
- the applicant can play 2-3 octave scales up to three flats and three sharps
- the applicant is proficient in techniques such as bow control, intonation, shifting, and vibrato
- If you live outside of Eagle County, you must be willing to attend with a parent or guardian who can transport you to and from rehearsals and stay in overnight discounted housing or provide your own housing. Discount housing codes will be provided upon acceptance.

Students should be proficient at reading music and have prior experience in playing in an ensemble. See below for detailed prerequisites. Applications are required.

Transportation, when needed to social activities, will be provided by an Eagle County School District bus. Parents or Guardians will be required to pick up students at the end of the evening activities.
Overnight Housing
Out-of-town students requiring overnight housing must stay with a parent or guardian. Local discount housing is available at an estimated cost of $1070 for the week. Additional information will be provided upon acceptance.

Student Packing
Students should bring their instruments, music, pencil, portable music stand to practice in lodging, metronome, rosin, water bottle, sunscreen, rain jacket, outdoor shoes, and performance attire consisting of black bottoms, white tops, black socks or stockings, black dress shoes.
Overnight supplies to prepare should include pajamas and toiletries. Snacks are welcome and meals will be provided.
Safety
All teaching staff and Festival artists are professionally background checked.
Students will be under the supervision of our teaching staff throughout the educational and social portions of the daily schedule. Select teaching staff are first aid certified. Our teaching and performing venues have access to AED equipment.
