Earlier this month I had an amazing time doing a residency at the Boston Conservatory, which included masterclasses with the wonderful young musicians there, and also my Boston recital debut. After that I flew to Mexico City to play two Bach Concerti (a welcome rarity for me) with my cherished colleague Carlos Miguel Prieto and the Orquestra Nacional de Mexico City, and now I am “home sweet home” for the holidays. Traveling the world making music is a thrill and a privilege, but I treasure the chance to be with family, catch up on a few plays, and have some quiet time to explore new repertoire. This year my holiday to-do list includes learning the Mozart K. 482 Piano Concerto and Shostakovich Preludes and Fugues, and a David Ludwig Flute Trio that we’ll be premiering at my Ocean Reef Festival in January. Oh, and also editing several Mozart Concerti, which will be released on Bridge Records soon. I hope your holidays are filled with great music, wonderful friends and precious time with family!!
