Bravo! Vail Music Festival Celebrates Hispanic/Latino Culture in 2025 New Article
The Bravo! Vail Music Festival is thrilled for its upcoming 38th Festival season, taking place from June 19 to July 31, 2025, and featuring more than 70 concerts throughout Colorado’s picturesque Vail Valley region. The six-week festival will present five internationally acclaimed orchestras, highlighting Hispanic/Latino culture with the return of Mexico’s Sinfónica de Minería after the orchestra’s successful debut residency last year.
The other featured orchestras are the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic, as well as renowned chamber ensembles and guest artists from around the world.
The season highlights an incredible breadth of programming, including classical masterpieces, new music, pops favorites, and Latin-American classical music. The featured Latina/o artists include Carlos Miguel Prieto, Pacho Flores, and Pablo Sainz-Villegas.
Community outreach events during the Sinfónica de Minería residency will be announced in early June, 2025.
HIGHLIGHTS:
Sinfónica de Minería (June 23-26, 2025)
Following the success of last year’s residency, Bravo! Vail welcomes back Mexico’s Sinfónica de Minería, which was the first Latin American orchestra to perform at the Festival. Highlights of the three-day residency include a free concert at the Avon Performance Pavilion at Nottingham Park on June 26, led by Artistic Director Carlos Miguel Prieto and including trumpet player Pacho Flores, and performances by Sinfónica de Minería ensembles throughout the Vail Valley community.
The program at Avon Pavilion includes music by contemporary Latina/o composers Gabriela Ortiz, Arturo Márquez, and Juan Pablo Contreras.
Prieto will also conduct the Dallas Symphony Orchestra on July 1, with a program that includes the world premiere of a piece commissioned from Sophia Jani (part of Bravo! Vail’s Symphonic Commissioning Project). Additionally, Spanish guitarist Pablo Sáinz-Villegas is the featured soloist for Joaquín Rodrigo’s Fantasía para un gentilhombre on July 11, with The Philadelphia Orchestra, conducted by Stéphane Denève.
