Wu Man
Wu Man is an accomplished composer, educator, and one of the most prominent instrumentalists of traditional Chinese music. Having premiered hundreds of new works for the pipa and spearheaded multimedia projects to preserve and raise awareness of China’s ancient musical traditions, Ms. Wu seeks opportunities that range from solo and concerto works to opera, chamber music, electronic music, jazz, and much more.

Wu Man joins The Philadelphia Orchestra and conductor Marin Alsop for Zhao Jiping’s cinematic Pipa Concerto No. 2, on a program that also includes Beethoven’s triumphant Leonore Overture and Shostakovich’s defiant Fifth Symphony. - July 8 – Wu Man & The Verona Quartet, Bravo! Vail
Wu Man will join the Verona String Quartet for a program featuring Janáček’s String Quartet No. 1, solo works for pipa, including an original by Wu Man, and Tan Dun’s dramatic Concerto for String Quartet and Pipa.
