Human Resources & Administrative Manager
Title: Human Resources & Administrative Manager
Classification: Full-Time

Position Summary:
The Human Resources and Administrative Manager is responsible for general human resources management, payroll, benefits management, internship program, volunteer groups, guild, and general support of administrative operations. This position plays a key role in attracting and retaining high quality personnel while establishing a prosperous and rewarding culture. The position requires a proactive approach in order to revamp systems, implement new technology and processes, develop high performing teams, and ensure compliance with best practices.
Essential Functions:
- Human Resources and Benefits Management
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulation affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
- Assists with recruitment and retention of staff; job postings, hiring, onboarding, employee engagement, team building activities, culture building, professional development, and best practices
- Evaluates all systems, software platforms, and policies. Provides recommendations to leadership for new opportunities and take lead role for implementing new initiatives
- Keeps records of benefits plans participation, personnel transactions, and employee statistics for government, internal, and external reporting
- Supports inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs while being the point of contact for employment matters
- Implements performance review process; Collaborates with management to establish annual goals and performance metrics
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental, and vision insurances, retirement plans, professional development, and time off
- Serves as point of contact for employee HR employment issues; Reviews and updates Employee Handbook on annual basis
- Facilitates HR communications to all staff with updates and initiatives for building a collaborative, high achieving and joyful workplace
- Assists on issues related to workers’ compensation and liability claims; Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier
- Remains current with state labor laws and ensure compliance with all aspects of employment regulations\
- Develops practices for enhancing staff culture through active collaboration, team building, and employee engagement
- Other duties as assigned
Internship Program, Volunteer Groups, and Audience Services
- Responsible for management of Bravo! Vail Internship Program including job postings, interviewing candidates, communicating prior to season, creating and guiding intern orientation, planning intern enrichment activities, and coordinating mid and post-season evaluations
- Responsible for management of volunteer groups including Guild, Community Relations Committee, and identifying/coordinating new volunteer opportunities
- Assist, coordinate, and potentially perform the Audience Services Manager role
- Communicate Bravo! Vail policies to Guild and offer support on how/when to administer
- Provide year-round support with designated Guild leader
- Support Guild merchandise sales team to ensure functional
General Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Human Resources experience preferred
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms preferred
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail required
- Strong relationship management skills and the ability to establish rapport in person, via phone, and through written communications
- Proactive approach, dependable, supportive
- Discretion to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, particularly during the summer festival season

Compensation:
Salary $65,000 - $80,000

Job Location: Various locations throughout Eagle and/or Lake County School Districts (position is not remote)
Job Dates: mid-September through end of April (following the local school district calendar)

Program Overview:
Bravo! Vail’s Music Makers Haciendo Música (MMHM) encourages students to explore the world of classical music through group classes that include lessons covering music theory, technique, performance, and collaboration. In weekly 45-minute classes held throughout the academic year, students build strong musical foundations. Each winter and spring, students perform in community recitals, and over the summer, developing and advanced students are invited to participate in a five-day Summer Intensive.
Position Summary:
The Substitute Piano or Violin Teacher must provide a safe and inspiring environment conducive to learning while promoting a life-long appreciation of music. Teachers are responsible for guiding each of their group classes and individual students with a positive, solution-based approach to music education.
Essential Functions:
Teaching
• Follow Bravo! Vail’s MMHM curriculum to progress classes through each level of material using the Faber (piano) or Suzuki (violin) method series supplemented by other materials as needed. Substitute teachers will be given a lesson plan drafted by the regular class teacher.
Communication
• After subbing for a class, communicate back to the class teacher a summary of the class experience and attendance records.
Requirements:
• A passion for Bravo! Vail mission
• A minimum of two years of work experience in piano or violin instruction, group lessons
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative and proactive team member
• Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving including conflict-resolution skills
• Self-reliant, but also excels as team player
• Suitable written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills appropriate for communications with students ages 8-18 and their parents/families.
• Basic proficiency in computer skills
• Ability to pass a background check as administered by Bravo! Vail and the school district.
Compensation:
Starting at $60/hour

The Jane & Gary Bomba Bravo! Vail Summer Internship Program is unsurpassed in its reputation of advancing interns into successful careers in arts administration, non-profit management, and beyond. Interns have gone on to work with world-class orchestras, performance venues, festivals, and community-based non-profit organizations. Bravo! Vail is seeking eight highly qualified interns (Audio Engineering, Development & Special Events, Education & Engagement, Sales & Marketing, and Operations) who aspire to develop their skill set, seek to network with successful professionals, and are inspired by challenging projects. As an intern at Bravo! Vail, you will work with a variety of our staff and engage in projects that will not only help our festival but also build your resume and career opportunities. - Intern Enhancement Activities: Throughout the summer, interns participate in open forum meetings with successful professionals from Bravo! Vail, the resident orchestras’ administration, and members of the Bravo! Vail Board of Trustees to get an insider’s perspective on many aspects of arts administration.
- Diverse Projects: Interns work on all aspects of the Festival including donor events, marketing initiatives, education programs, and operational components. This gives each intern a better perspective as to which area they would like to pursue as a career.
- Access to concerts: Interns are encouraged to attend many Bravo! Vail performances.
